#Half King Danny and Vlad hc

So I made a wip regarding this post.

I don't know if its good or not considering this is basically the first ever idea I've actually written for this phandom so, constructive criticism would be appreciated, both for this and dialogue cause idk how to write conversations lol.

It wasn’t often that Danny got to rest like this, surrounded by ice and cold in one of the deepest, secluded parts of the Far Frozen. His tail flicked lazily behind him as he rested.

Becoming the Ghost King – more like half king – was not what it was worth. Not that he even wanted to become the Ghost King, it sorta just. Happened. As does most things in his life. If it weren’t for that fruitloop he wouldn’t even be in this mess in the first place.

Becoming the Ghost King and then four weeks later waking up as a dragon was not in his to-do list thank you very much. At least the whole of Amity park was affected and not just him, minimises the chances of it being a personal strike against him.

But whoever made that wish should stub their pinkie toe.

(Weasley Weston sneezed, then screamed out loud as he stubbed his toe.)

Danny stretched, letting out a sigh of contentment (more so just blowing cold air out his nose) as he could hear the bones popping. He then laid back down, ready to recharge, relax and ignore whatever thing that’s happening in the outside world that doesn’t need his immediate attention.

Something is going to ruin this, isn’t it-

“Daniel!” The familiar voice of the other Ghost King’s – the other half – scream reverberates inside the room that Danny decided to hold up in, the area noticeably getting hotter as well.

-aaand there it is.

Danny keeps his head down, not opening his eyes as his tail lashes in the general direction of the phoenix-

“What do you want, Fruit Loop?” Danny’s voice was tired and exasperated, with a bit of aggression mixed in as well. 

-based on how he couldn’t feel a weight at the end of his tail, nor the squawk Vlad would let out if he managed to land a hit, he could say he missed. A pity.

Vlad scoffed, staring down the dragon at the end of his beak as he flew back a bit to avoid his tail, the temperature rising ever so slightly in the face of his irritation.

Luckily, this is the resting grounds of a Ghost King, so it wouldn’t be melting anytime soon. Unless he actually tries, of course. Vlad shuffled in place for a moment, turning the words over in his beak before taking a deep breath.

“Just spit it out already fruit-”

“The Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep is missing.” Predictably Danny did not take that news well, he quickly got up to his full height, his eyes wide open as cold mist leaves his mouth and his tail swishes in agitation.

“WHAT!?” Vlad huffed, “Calm down little badger. Panicking will get us nowhere.” Vlad then turned around, gesturing with his wing for Danny to follow before he quickly left the area, taking off in flight soon after.

Hey ya'll! Another au I thought up lol.

So this is gonna be another Half King au with immortal Danny and Vlad lol.

Danny got the Crown of Fire, which changed to more icey blue cool flames than green and Vlad got the Ring of Rage.

ANYWHO.

Danny and Vlad split the zone into two part (not literally), with Danny ruling over one half and Vlad the other. Because they have equal power, they can also make decisions regarding the others territory but they have an agreement to not mess with each other's shit unless its actually important.

Then Vlad gets summoned to a different dimension for whatever who summoned him wanted, to which he then decides to stay because what the summoner wanted would take a few years.

To which he then decided to take a vacation and tell no one about it.

So Danny, after a couple hundred years of Vlad's mysterious disappearance. He's told by Clockwork that now he has to go find him, to which Danny asked why since he didn't need to go looking hundreds of years earlier.

To which Clockwork smiles, points him in the direction, and tells him to go looking.

Danny grumbles, but he goes.

But for whatever reason he himself cannot enter the portal, he doesn't know why, but something is blocking him from entering.

The ghosts are a different matter.

So, using the far back knowledge from when he stilled visited earth, he came up with a plan to bypass whatever is blocking him and walk the planet on the other side.

What better than a cult?

So he sends a few ghosts through to discreetly plant some 'tomes' about the Ghost King, specifically the one who wears the crown, and now he just has to wait.

Meanwhile, Vlad:

Honestly, he's been enjoying his vacation a whole lot, he left the world he was originally summoned too after he was done and kinda floated aimlessly around in space before coming upon earth and decided why not.

So now here he is 450 years later, firmly cemented in the business world with a company with 450 years of rich history past down to each heir of the family who, funnily enough, were each named a variation of Vlad.

Vladmir, Vladicus, Vladalia, etc.

Obviously just him in different looks but eh no one knows.

Anywho, now he's attending a Gala held by one Lex Luthor and honestly, he was just pretty bored.

He doesn't need to really attend, and he has his money bet on Luthor not wanting him to attend, but he does get a kick outta annoying the hell out of that baldie any day of the week.

Meanwhile Danny, a few months earlier:

So his planned worked, because of course it would. TV tropes always work.

There he was, clothed in his kingly garments, his crown made sure to be the very cool and powerful looking version of his ice flames and his face stony and cold.

He did all of this expecting that he had to set a powerful image for the cultists so they would actually listen to him properly and not question him when he got to the other side.

Only to be met with a ridiculous sight.

What he thinks were the cultists getting their asses handed to them by.... very brightly dressed individuals in spandex and...

Is that a British guy smoking while flinging about magic?

Now, he doesn't judge, especially when he's already lived for more than a hundred years.

But what the absolute ever loving fruitloop.

He may or not may not have stood there with his arms crossed under his chest, his cold expression turned deadpan while he watched the people he was going to give an introduction to get their asses beat for a good few minutes.

A pity, he worked on that introduction in case he ever got summoned too.

When what were obviously superheroes finished up and turned to greet him, he maaaaay have floated up to have the height advantage on them.

Look, its not his fault he has the body of a teenager and honestly they should really shorten themselves down and stop being so tall already.

So he asked them if they've seen another ghost king, you know. Blue skin, red eyes, vampiric teeth?

By the reaction he would have to say no.

He already knows that Vlad is somewhere on this planet so he just, leaves, and goes to find him.

It was only until a few days later did he think that it might've helped if he gave a name instead of Fruitloop.

Meanwhile at the gala in present time:

Vlad was having a grand old time, as always Luthor really knew what food and which drinks would be best for his parties and honestly, that's just a bonus.

What he's really here for is the subtle reactions Lex Luthor gives him when he's trying to hold himself together.

It's always fun when that happens.

He met with Brucie Wayne (who he surprisingly never met yet.), had a good laugh, maybe made a new friend. Said hi to that reporter that's at Luthor's events like half the time- Clark Kent if he remembered correctly.

Met a woman named Diana Prince, had a good conversation with her, and mingled with a few other people.

He also saw a British guy that smoked like no tomorrow, not that he judged. May or may not have sneaked him some another pack.

Isn't he just so nice today?

So there he was, enjoying his time as he usually did. Until he felt the familiar cold presence that he hasn't felt for a good while.

Damn. Guess that means his vacation is up now.

Got some pretty strong whiskey, poured himself a glass, idly drank it and waited for the show to begin.

And just as he thought, there Phantom appeared, floating over everyone as he looked down on them as if they were barely worth his attention.

They then locked eyes.

"Found you." Danny said, ignoring the confused people underneath him. To which Vlad gulped down his drink in one go, poured himself another glass, took a sip and smiled.

"Hello to you too, little badger."

How come I couldn't find anything on Red Haired Danny?!

Okay, maybe I'm just bad at searching but really. IS THERE ANY RED HAIRED DANNY?!

I mean, we all have that Jazz having Jack's built and Danny got Maddie's HC and even the one that is opposite or that when it comes to gene you know? Danny being the bulky one like Jack or other HC.

So how come there's not much fics about Danny 'I'm half alive half ghost and short king twig' Fenton being Red head having either blue eyes or purple eyes like Maddie along side all other quality that make him the exact copy of Maddie but opposide gender.

Imagine what would Vlad do? How much his obsession would go crazier than it is in canon! But we all know canon is a nonexistence to this Phandom, so not important.

NOT TO MENTION! Jazz more like Jack except for her coloration, now imagine her having the exact same coloration as Jack and as reckless and having bad aim as Jack. These children are exactly the revert of their parents as far as I'm concerned.

So please answer me, WHERE IS RED HAIRED DANNY??!!??!?!?! I NEED TO SEE HIM AND I NEED A FANART!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

*sobbing in the corner* I blame my brain for even coming up wit the idea of DPxNaruto crossover where Danny given mission to help the chosen one of this world and also take it as a vacation when the shinigami saw the newborn and the misery awaits him and told the court of the Realm. Vlad Masters/Plasmius headcanons because why the fuck not:

-He has journals full of ghost studies as well as case study notes of his own experiences as a halfa safely locked away in his mansion somewhere. (The halfa journals are organized from least-traumatizing experiences and learned knowledge to most traumatizing experiences and learned knowledge.).

-Before the reunion, he had a loathe-hate relationship with himself. In his mind he's a monster *with* his ghost half, but he's nothing without it.

-Enjoys committing easy-to-clean-up/cover-up arson from time to time.

-All the Packers merch in his mansion is more insured than the mansion itself.

-He hates being inside hospitals.

-While he and Skulker have a mostly professional ghost-hunting-ghost-hitman-and-frequent-hirer/weapon-supplier relationship, they occasionally go normal hunting together every other week and bitch about the woes of their perspective lovelives (or lack of one) over drinks.

-As someone who shares a mansion with the dairy king, Vlad tends to use a lot of dairy products in his cooking.

Sam: Grabbing herself some mashed potatoes

Danny: Wait! Don't eat those! Vlad made them!

Sam: Are they poisoned?!

Danny: No, but its Vlad, the secret ingredient in his cooking is at least six sticks of butter and an entire ball of mozzarella.

-If his feelings for Jack Fenton could be summed up in two songs they would be "Wolf in sheep's clothing" (Set It Off) transitioning to "Want you Gone" (Portal 2).

-More of a ghost-core hc than strictly a Vlad hc but Ice and Fire cores naturally repel each other.

-Ghost halves of halfas don't age naturally like the human halves do, so Vlad's ghost form requires constant upkeep to keep it to stay the way it looks. (His more 'natural' ghost form is equal parts unsettling and sad to look at. Something that would only be shown if Danny Phantom leaned more into pg-13 horror instead of action.)

-His cat bites/bats at his ponytail.

What's a notfic?

So, this was really common in fandom like 10 years ago but it's less common now so I'm just including this quick explanation in case. Notfic/Not!Fic is the halfway point between an actual fic and a prompt. It mostly sort of has the tone of describing another fic to somebody, or working out an ongoing plot with a friend (e.g. Instead of writing out an entire set of dialogue, a notfic might just put "Jason and Tim discuss why they both want to fake their deaths").

Hi! Connected to DannyMay... I'm not really familiar with AU names/titles, either with AUs much. Could you help me out a bit? It sounds fun, but nothing comes to my mind if I think about those. Is there a list for those maybe? Maybe about the popular ones? What those mean? Thank you for your help! :)

If you don't want to submit any AU's, you don't have to! The poll is entirely optional, and many people are just submitting 3 general prompts. When the poll closes and the calendar is posted, any AUs we choose for the event will come with descriptions for people!

But if you want to browse them to submit, here's a bunch of popular DP AUs/HCs under the cut that I got off the top of my head.

Fangs: Self explanatory. Danny has fangs because ghost.

No One Knows AU: A "what if?" scenario exploring a universe where Danny was alone on the accident (aka no Sam and Tucker). As you can imagine, this has great potential for angst.

Corpse AU: A scenario where when halfas die, they leave behind a body. Usually the plot revolves around either the DP trio hiding/burying the body, or someone/cops finding the body in the woods somehow!

Dual Obsession AU: This is a scenario where Danny has two ghostly obsessions tying him down to Earth: an obsession with protection (or something similar) and a more innocent one about space. Typically, his space obsession involves a shift in his appearance and powers as well. Great potential for both fluff and angst with this one.

Monster Appearance: Honestly not quite sure what the actual name for this one is, but a lot of people like to play with a situation where Danny's ghostly form is a lot more inhuman looking.

Hazmat AU: Along the previous lines, this is a scenario where Danny's parents actually follow lab safety protocol and so Danny dies in a real hazmat suit, hood/mask and all.

Portal AU: This is a situation where Danny becomes the portal when he dies. He essentially throws up ghosts.

Ghost King: This is a headcannon where Danny becomes the ghost king after defeating Pariah Dark.

Season 4: Not really an AU, people more just like to picture/write about their take on what the future of Danny Phantom would be like (either including or ignoring the season 3 finale episode).

Field Trip: A headcannon where people like to have Danny and his class take a field trip, usually to the Ghost Zone, sometimes to other places too. Usually involves Danny's class getting stranded somewhere and Danny secretly (with varying levels of success) try to figure out how to get his class home without outing himself.

Full Ghost AU: Also self-explanatory. During the accident, Danny turns into a full ghost.

Human AU: An AU where Danny starts out a full ghost, and the portal accident turns him into a human/halfa (Half Human AU in this case).

Halfa Jack AU: A situation based off that episode of DP where Jack, not Vlad, gets in the initial accident. Usually involves Danny being raised by Vlad/Maddie.

Dissection: A headcannon where Danny gets dissected by either his parents or the Guys in White. I like to call these "dissecc" but that's just me.

Ghost Hunger AU: A dark and typically angsty scenario where Danny must consume ectoplasm to feed his core. Some people go a less-angsty route where ambient ectoplasm, or ecto-fruits/veggies will satisfy this. Others go a more cannibalistic route.

Reverse Trio AU: An AU which "reverses" the roles of the trio. Typically portrayed as Sam being the halfa, Danny being the geek, and Tucker being the goth.

Electric Core AU: A scenario where because Danny dies via electricity, instead of developing ice powers (and a 'cold core'), he's given electricity powers (aka an 'electric core).

Well, that's all I can think of right now. I might add more to this list if it comes to me. Lemme know if I forgot anything.

DP - Broken Future AU

I have a confession to make.

One of my favorite pairings is DanxOlder!PlantSam. Like, I imagine that there is an alternate timeline where Danny didn’t manage to beat Undergrowth & died. In my thoughts, Sam eventually immunized to Undergrowth’s control & destroyed him by taking all of his power for herself & becoming a Halfa herself. However, the only reason it worked is because Vlad had infected her with ecto-acne, which I feel would act in a similar way to cancer, meaning once you’ve gotten it then even if you’re in remission, you can get it again. I've heard it be compared to ecto-herpies. Getting taken over by Undergrowth just restarted the process. Anyway, by then, like, half the human race has been used as fertilizer for Undergrowth’s plants.

In cases where defeating Pariah Dark causes Danny to become the next Ghost King, Undergrowth killing Danny transfers the crown to him & then Sam destroying Undergrowth gives it to her. Now, she's in-line to become Ghost Queen. She becomes the Queen of Thorns & has named herself Nightshade. When placed on her head, the crown & ring changes to take on the appearance of blood blossom wreaths, the crown having a dark, shadowy aura. Blood blossoms, from the perspective of ghosts, would be pretty threatening.

She takes Danny’s place as a protector of Earth even though she’s scorned by the rest of humanity for what she’d participated in, though against her will.

She turns 24 & Clockwork, like, fuses Dan’s broken timeline with her broken timeline, then sorta dumps Dan in the new product, sealing him to it.

Anybody who existed in both timelines sort of merge. So, the 2 Vlads merge & the product has memories from both timelines. Also, because Dan is half-Plasmius, he also gets the memories of the Vlad from Sam's timeline.

Sam ends up being the only one able to go toe-to-toe with Dan because of her unique ability to control blood blossoms & create weapons with them. Her preferred choice is to turn them into either a blood blossom whip or thorn rapier.

When they meet each other, it causes a lot of drama.

It’s friends-to-enemies-to-lovers & the idea is that he fights her for years, trying to destroy this new timeline like he destroyed his old one, but extended contact with his old friend & crush slowly brings out the parts of him that used to be Danny.

Or, who knows, maybe the parts of Dan that were Plasmius leads to him developing an obsession (not a ghost Obsession, just a regular human obsession) with her?

I see it becoming spicy, sexy, & maybe a little creepy. This is my guilty pleasure ship & I know that it’s wrong, but I can’t help it! Sue me!

I know that DanxSam is called both Evil Goth & Amethyst Blood, but DanxPlant!Sam has only Blood Blossoms for reference & that gets confusing. So, I feel like there needs to be a different name for the ship. Like, Evil Rose or Blood Rose.

Thanks to there being something of a resurrection of the Phandom on my dash, I’d like to share an AU concept I’ve come up with.

I call it “Fenton’s Inferno.

Danny died mere days before the Portal accident was supposed to half-kill him.

This has set all sorts of timelines into disarray.

Maddie Fenton, reeling from her son’s death throws herself into her work double-checking everything and finding the ‘On/Off’ switch was INSIDE the portal so she made sure it was unplugged flicked it on and once they’d done more of their due diligence, the Fentons fired up the Portal.

Shortly after, they use their Specter Speeder to go into the zone and find the Ghost Zone is nothing like they’d imagined. 

As Jack is blathering about the data, Maddie’s eye is caught by strange doors in front of strange pockets. 

One in particular seems to be a door that looks uncannily like the one to their ghost zone and it’s in front of what looks like Cape Canaveral crossed with the Moon. They enter it after a moment.

There, with a sort of blue-white skin tone, white hair, and glowing green eyes floating in front of a space telescope was Danny.

“Mom? Dad!?”

His retaining of his sentience and memories was a shock.

“Is it really you, Dan-o?” Jack asked.

“In the…ectoplasm,” Danny said awkwardly.

“What is this?”

“It’s my lair! All Ghosts have them, or so my mentor says!”

“Mentor?”

“Yeah, like a ghost that guides you through being dead?”

“But you weren’t supposed to die that day,” Maddie said suddnely. And in her heart she somehow knew that to be true.

“I’m not even the youngest ghost here,” Danny said rubbing the back of his neck.

“Aren’t you mad you’re dead?” Jack asked.

“Disappointed maybe? There was so much I wanted to do but I’m ok. It wasn’t your fault,” Danny said.

“Then come back with us to the human world.”

“Can’t do that. Ghosts belong in the ghost zone,” Danny said.

“Has anyone ever tried to fix death?” Maddie asked.

“Way too many and it doesn’t end up well,” Danny said. 

He paused and floated over to a corner of the lair and came back with something.

“My…mentor ghost. He…he doesn’t think I should have died either. Take this. I have a spare.” 

It was a cog-shaped medallion with “CW” on it.

“Talk to him.”

Him turned out to be a powerful entity called Clockwork.  He agrees with Maddie.

Danny should not be dead.(fully)

Danny’s premature full death has royally screwed up the timelines and mostly in negative manners.

“Though, should we bring him back? He seemed happy in that lair,” Maddie said.

“But he wasn’t. Maddie, he was only tying to make us feel better so we could move on.”

“That’s precisely what he was doing. Your son has a remarkable capacity for helping others.”

“How can we bring him back? You’re the master of all time? Can’t we time travel back to when he died?”

“Afraid not in this case. A couple of near-sighted eyes are keeping too close a watch on me to simply allow humans through.”

“Then what can we do?”

“There is a way to restore your son’s human existence, something only a human can do. Follow me.”

Clockwork leads Maddie and Jack to a part of the Ghostzone that feels both empty yet filled with…something

“This is as far as I can go. Within you’ll face many trials. Life is not cheap. To restore your son, you will need to pay a hefty price.”

“Name any price and I’ll pay it!” Jack said.

“Even your own life?”

“If that’s all it takes, you can have it!”

“Good. Keep that passion. You’re going to need it and this: good luck.”

From here the idea is Jack and Maddie have to face different trials based on their own lives, fears, and ambitions all while passing lower and lower into this strange dungeon like building.

Unfortunately for them, they’ve had a stalker: Skulker.

He reports them to Vlad who first barges into Danny’s lair to meet “the little badger”

He’s shocked that Danny’s lair is so complex when Danny’s only been a ghost for a month.

It’s my personal HC that Danny would have always been a powerful ghost and Full Ghost!Danny’s powers are celestial based and he’d, eventually, be strong enough to challenge Pariah Dark but the Observants don’t care that Vlad’s actions would cause wide-scale death and destruction in the human world by the time Full Ghost! Danny had grown powerful enough to take on the Ghost King and take his place.

As far as the observants are concerned, Clockwork merely needs to groom Danny into a good future Ghost King and keep him safe during Pariah’s rampage.

So Vlad tries schmoozing up to Danny realizing this ghost would eventually be powerful and offers him protection.

Danny declines and taps his medallion.

Vlad can’t exactly top Clockwork in power level and he knows it.

So he finds the Descent with Skulker’s help

Vlad being a halfa can, of course, enter but Skulker cannot.

But Vlad’s ghost powers are on the fritz.

So now it’s a race between the Fentons and Vlad to get to the bottom and bring Danny back.

Vlad, so he can have Maddie and Danny in his debt.

The Fentons because they love their son

That, so far, is all I have for this AU.

BTW the reason Jack and Maddie aren’t trying to rip ghosts apart  “Molecule by molecule” is Grief. They’re not their usual selves.

Im going to say it... season 3 of Danny Phantom wasn't that bad.

I recently rewatched the entire series along with all of the Ben 10 series in order to refresh my memory for the crossover comic. Personally I like all of the seasons in DP. But it seems like season 3 gets the most hate. Now I get why, sorta, the ghosts aren't as relatable as the first 2 and there a lot of more OP. Yet, I think that was the point. Remember Phantom beat the ghost king back in season 2. The show had to up the villans. Also the concept of ghosts in the show allowed for there to be a wide range of powers and abilities (one of my HCs is that ghosts get more powerful by: being around fear, consuming ectoplasm, and by "overshadowing/absorbing" other ghosts). It stands to reason that some would be OP, more than likely because of time and the events of their death (I don't care what Harman says, the ghosts are very obviously dead people).

Season 3 also introduces the existence of ghost cores, gives us evil Sam, a Box Ghost that is actually scary and Vlad getting a cat. Also Dani returns along with Valarie in one of the coolest episodes that builds Valaries character and questions ethics about free will, cloning and how much your past defines you.

Two of my favorite episodes of the show are Boxed Up Fury (I'm a Mythology nerd) and The Ultimate Enemy. The series finale was definitely underwhelming. I would have preferred that Dan came back and it was a battle of ideas, and loss of humanity. But Phantom Planet did highlight the pain that Danny goes through as Phantom, and his frustration with that half of himself. Heck he nearly (fully) killed himself just for the off chance that he could be rid of his powers.

No this season wasn't perfect, but no show is (except Last Airbender) but it did have some good things along with the bad.

I am not, I just spit out ideas.

It entirely depends on the person reading them if they wish to involve any kind of romantic intent in the ideas I put out.

When I make my ideas I don't have ships in mind when I do so, I just take characters who I think would be good and then just make an idea with them.

The Vlad and Danny thing is because I have this hc where both of them are the ghost king, so whenever I use that hc Vlad and Danny are going to be used in that sense.

I also like Badger Cereal, so perhaps I'm writing them in that sense as well when not in any of my Half King hc ideas lol.

So again, whenever I make ideas I do not write them with romantic intentions, it is entirely up to whoever reads them to decide what their relationship is.
